Final Post! Podcast, Videocast, new video, and more madness!

Hello everybody! Hope everybody has been staying well and healthy throughout this entire crisis going on. I have lots of content for you guys to listen/watch tonight, so give it all some love!

First up is a new podcast, I discuss the impact of Covid-19 and how even though things look bleak as far as statistics go, we will prevail through this together! Tried to get some of my family to help with this but sadly, they weren’t interested.

Podcast is here!

Second up is a videocast, which I’m kind of new to (as you can tell by the watermark, there weren’t many good free options for a movie editor). I talk about music in gaming, specifically the new hit game Animal Crossing! There’s also a chrome extension for the music here!

Sorry for the bad lighting, really had to work with what I had.

Last but not least is a new Pro Tools video! This one is about setting up your session and building tracks. It’s easy and effective! For more PT tips, try this site!

Hope you find this informative!

Hope you all are enjoying the page and staying on top of this crazy world. I wish you all the best, and until next time, I hope you’ve worked out those creative muscles!

More Music to Come Soon!

Hey guys! I noticed the feedback on my last song, single, whatever you want to call it (even though it is a cover) was pretty exceptional, so I have a few more songs on backlog now (original and covers) to create. Pro Tools becomes quite the addiction when you get the hang of it, even if I may not be the best at explaining it. If you haven’t already, check out my soundcloud I created in one of my earlier posts to hear my music.

First Daft Punk, now The Killers, let’s get the cover train rolling!

Xpand! The Best Free Plugin!

Xpand is a German engineered MIDI synthesizer plugin that can mimic an array of a ton of instruments. It’s super impressive and blends in really well with actual instruments. The entirety of most of the songs I’ve produced use it to some extent, and there’s literally hundreds of options to tweak. Check it out, it comes with Pro Tools for free, just log in to your Avid account!

Until next time, see ya!

Pro Tools: Need Plugins?

Pro Tools plugins can be a little shifty at times, as with downloading any file on the web. However, Pro Tools Expert is here to help.

This link here provides a database of free plugins that are authenticated by users, so you know they aren’t trying to scam you, just make sure you look for AAX plugins, as those are the only ones that will work with Pro Tools.

Happy plugin hunting and see ya next time!

Pro Tools: About Plugins

As far as DAW’s go, most of them have plugins, it isn’t native to Pro Tools. Nonetheless, allow me to explain so you don’t have to search it up.

Plugins are mini software add ons to an interface. These can be virtual instruments, filters, or whatever else for your audio bending needs. A lot of plugins are paid, and cost a pretty decent amount of money, BUT you can also find a bunch of free ones if you’re determined enough.

For those gamers out there, it’s the equivalent of a mod for a DAW.

Pro Tools plugins look like this.

My next article will talk about how to use these, specifically in Pro Tools.

Stay tuned!

Pro Tools: Getting Started!

Here’s the first of many posts I will be making about Avid’s Pro Tools software.

If you currently can’t afford this software a free trial is available with no need to input billing information or anything!

Your first step in this would be to gather some kind of input and output device (shown in my videos) and download the software.

Next post will be about getting started with the actual software. I’ll try to keep it as simple as possible!

Review: Scarlett 2i2 3rd gen!

Focusrite has become a very famous brand for producing stellar and affordable audio interfaces. The company really shines with it’s smaller and more budget interfaces, which have a lot of the capabilities of the more expensive models.

A very user friendly interface.

My only (and therefore my favorite) product of theirs is the 2i2 3rd gen Scarlett. It’s nice to look at, and if you watched my video, you saw all the inputs it had to offer. It’s versatile, and the latency is also incredily low to the point where it isn’t noticeable. I highly recommend this item, even if it is on the pricier side.

Until next time, see ya!

Review: Eris 3.5 Speakers

Thought I’d review my two favorite things about recording that have mad life so much better (the other is my Scarlett) and thought I would do a quick review of them.

A beauty.

The Eris 3.5 speakers are a modest size and made for compact desktop setups, which fit my needs completely. They’re also probably the best pair of speakers you can get for under 100 dollars or at least within that price range. The bass, clarity, and pretty much everything else about them is exceptional compared to a standard laptop speaker. I haven’t been exposed to too many kinds of speakers, but mixing on these helped a lot with my first release and I’m sure they’d help you too so give them a shot!

Until next time, see ya!
